The company Flamina was created in 1963 by Elio Martini, an antiquarian in Florence. His talent was applied to re-produce antique crystal chandeliers made of iron and wood, to be sold in the antique shop market.
Soon, the demand was so great, that a direct sales force was organized to sell not only to antiquarians, but also to specialized shops in the lighting and furniture industry. After a few years, thanks to its success, Flamina was one of the most recognized lighting manufacturer of classical chandeliers. From a small artisan business, it evolved into a structured company selling throughout Italy and many other foreign countries. As time passed and tastes changed, Flamina has broadened its product offering based on the changes in demand. To this day, Flamina still |

produces classical chandeliers and also offers lighting fixtures of contemporary design, while still maintaining its emphasis on quality.
The manufacturing techniques in use are still the ones from the past; each piece is unique to its handcrafter and its artistic talent; the iron metal is still forged by hand in a furnace, the antique gold finish is made with laminated brass leaves, and all other finishes are hand painted. Even the manufacturing components are selected carefully. Many are from Murano, such as the glass shades of the standing lamps. These are mouth blown by the famous and world-recognized glass masters. The goal of the Flamina company is to continue to manufacture according to people´s taste, while offering innovation and high quality. |
